One Year After

The Return of WODs

After a year of not doing WODs, I come back to ITM 352 and find that I have to do them again. Luckily for me, my ICS 314 class did these exact same WODs when I took it last Spring. However, I would obviously still be struggling a little since it has been a while since I worked with html/css/javascript. Each WOD took me around 2-3 tries. For BrowserHistory1, I was able to do almost all of it based on memory and refreshing my skills through the labs in the class. The only part I had a problem with was in the table of contents section and linking all the paragraphs. I only had to double check with the WOD solution for that section. I was happy that I was able to do almost all of it on my own but at the same time I was also disappointed that I couldn’t do it all. I had to rely a lot on google during the WOD because I had to double check a lot of syntax but I don’t think its possible to remember everything.

The second WOD was a little more difficult than the first. I completely brain farted on the first attempt because I was getting mixed up with a framework I used for ICS 314 and I wasn’t sure if the element I was adding was correct or not. The CSS portion was not as bad for me since I remember more css things than html. Similarly, for WOD 3, I was ok for the CSS part. Both the second and third WOD took me 3 tries because I always forgot one thing in my code that wouldn’t work and I had to double check it. Overall though, it was fun getting back into WODs. I like the mental challenge it brought and it also reminded me of what’s to come in this class.
